TOP 10 WRESTLER IN WWE 2019
Best Wrestler Year In 2019
The WWE has started a new era on both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live. With ratings dropping in 2018, the company has tried to show that they are listening to fans and have started to push talent the fans have been begging for and might be finally moving away from the era of the general manager. With that in mind, there are some stars that look to be in line for a huge year.
The WWE has pushed the same top stars for a long time now and if they are really planning to allow some new talent to reach the top, the upcoming year is when that should happen. With a new era ahead for the company, here are 10 WWE wrestlers who will have a huge year in 2019.
10. DREW MCINTYRE
Drew McIntyre was supposed to be the Chosen One when he made his debut in the WWE years back. However, he wasn't ready for the pressure and drifted into a comedy gimmick in the 3 Man Band. He then left the WWE and reinvented himself in the indies. Since he returned to NXT and then Monday Night Raw, he is a new man.
McIntyre is a monster in the ring and is relentless, finally looking like the main event superstar he was supposed to be. Rumors indicate that Vince McMahon has taken notice and has big plans for McIntyre to carry the WWE into the future with 2019 being the start of something huge for the Scottish Psychopath.
9. DANIEL BRYAN
Daniel Bryan shocked the world in 2018 - twice. When the year started, Bryan was retired and was working as the general manager on SmackDown Live. However, midway through 2018, the WWE finally medically cleared Bryan to return from retirement. He came back and was once again one of the most popular wrestlers in the WWE.
However, as the cheers started to die down, Bryan had an idea. He asked the WWE to turn him heel and they finally relented, allowing him to turn on AJ Styles and become the world champion once again. Bryan now heads into 2019 as a bad guy for the first time in years and seems rejuvenated in his role as one of the top heels in the WWE.
8. SETH ROLLINS
One of the biggest WWE rumors heading into 2019 is Seth Rollins being the man to finally dethrone Brock Lesnar and take away the WWE Universal Championship. That story seemed to start when Rollins came out and dressed down Baron Corbin and spoke up for the fans before WWE TLC.
With Dean Ambrose winning the Intercontinental Championship from Rollins, it opens up the door for Rollins to move back into the main event scene and it sets him up for a crash course with Brock Lesnar, who he has been talking about in media appearances recently, at WrestleMania. 2019 could finally be the year of The Architect.
7. RUSEV
The WWE just announced a big spoiler on their website for the United States Championship situation heading into 2019. After a year of Rusev winning fans over both on social media and in person with everyone getting behind the idea of "Rusev Day," he is finally wearing gold again.
This week after SmackDown Live, Rusev won the United States Championshipfor the third time, beating Shinsuke Nakamura. The previous title reigns for the Bulgarian was as a heel but he is now solidly a beloved fan favorite and 2019 is his chance to show that his time has finally arrived to be one of the top main event talents.
6. THE UNDISPUTED ERA
For over a year now, the Undisputed Era has ruled over WWE NXT. Adam Cole has held the North American Championship and at least two of the members of the faction have been tag team champions ever since 2017, with the exception of one week where they lost the belts and won them back.
2019 will almost surely be the time for the Undisputed Era to prove that they can break the glass ceiling in the WWE on the main roster. Where The Revival, American Alpha, and Sanity have failed to set the world on fire, The Undisputed Era has everything it takes and will almost surely arrive in 2019 and start to dominate in the WWE.
5. BECKY LYNCH
Becky Lynch did the unthinkable in 2018. She had drifted along for years, almost always playing second fiddle to Charlotte Flair in the women's division. However, the WWE decided to turn Lynch heel to set her up as someone who could make Flair's life hard and the fans latched onto Lynch in the feud.
Becky then cut some of the best fiery promos of anyone in the WWE and took her presence to social media where she lit a fire to anyone who crossed her path. All along the way, fans didn't care that she was the heel and they loved her more than ever. Vince McMahon has reportedly said that Lynch is a perfect example of a wrestler reaching up and grabbing the elusive brass ring and 2019 should be a monster year for Lynch.
4. BRAY WYATT
Bray Wyatt had all the promise in the world when he arrived in the WWE as the Eater of Worlds. The man formerly known as Husky Harris reinvented himself in WWE NXT and when he showed up as Bray Wyatt, the fans loved him. Then, the WWE had him lose every feud he took part in and the fans soon lost interest.
Wyatt has been missing in action for a few months now, ever since Matt Hardystepped away due to injuries. Recently, Wyatt has sent out tweets promising a new character when he returns and the WWE reportedly has interest in trying to push him as a main event star again in 2019.
3. RONDA ROUSEY
Ronda Rousey has a lot of critics when it comes to her career in the WWE. While she was the Baddest Woman on the Planet in the UFC and could legitimately beat up any woman in the entire WWE, she is still a rookie and was almost handed the WWE Raw women's title. However, she has worked hard in her rookie year.
Rousey has had great matches against everyone from Alexa Bliss and Nikki Bella to Charlotte Flair and even Nia Jax. Throughout her rookie campaign, Rousey is getting better and better. 2019 sees big matches coming up for Rousey against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch and that should make her one of the biggest draws of the entire company.
2. RICOCHET
The WWE just announced some new call-ups from WWE NXT, including Lars Sullivan, Heavy Machinery and EC3. However, there is still one person in NXT that should be a monster star when he finally makes his main roster debut, and that man is Ricochet.
Ricochet was already one of the most exciting wrestlers in the indies before he arrived in NXT. He has since proven to be someone who can have a great match with anyone and has said that he is working hard to develop a great character as well. Ricochet should get called up in 2019 and could easily be the next AJ Styles for the WWE.
1. DEAN AMBROSE
Dean Ambrose was who most fans saw turning heel when The Shield originally split up. Many fans saw traces of Jake "The Snake" Roberts and Rowdy Roddy Piper in Ambrose. However, it was Seth Rollins that turned heel and Ambrose got a world title reign but ended up as a goofy face while holding the title.
It is now Ambrose's turn to play the heel after he betrayed Rollins and went off on his own. Ambrose is closing out 2018 as the new Intercontinental Champion, and if he can channel the early heel persona that he showed originally, he could be the next great bad guy on Monday Night Raw -- something the show desperately needs.
